Can I port my Google Voice number to Talkatone?

Last Updated: Oct 15, 2015 05:03PM PDT
By porting your Google Voice number into our Talkatone system you will be able to keep that number as your caller ID.

Once you port your number into Talkatone, it will no longer be available for use on Google Voice, nor will you be able to port it back to Google.

Porting your Google Voice number to Talkatone takes a bit of time and Google charges you $3 to unlock your Google Voice number, but it is doable and we are more than happy to assist you.

1. Sign up for a Talkatone account if you don't already have one, you will receive a Talkatone number that you can use until the porting of your number has been finalized.

2. Unlock your Google Voice number by going to www.google.com/voice/unlock and sign into your Google Voice account. Note that Google charges users $3 to unlock a number.

3. Once the number has been confirmed as unlocked by Google, send a porting request, from the email account you used to sign up with Talkatone, to support@talkatone.com (enter "Porting" as the subject) and state which number you want to port in to your Talkatone account.

That is it, we will get back to you as soon as your number has been ported.

NOTE: If you port your Google Voice number into Talkatone you agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. You will be able to find this information in the following link
