When we founded Talkatone in 2010, we had one simple goal: to enable you to communicate with anyone, anywhere at little or no cost.
It has always been our focus to provide a superior user experience. Over time, we have come to realize that Google Voice, while an attractive and open platform, has a number of limitations that are negatively impacting our ability to provide you with an outstanding experience.
As a result, we have spent much resources developing a new Talkatone service that we believe is better than any other mobile VoIP service - enhanced voice quality, more reliable call connections, a more intuitive user interface.
We are excited to share that the new Talkatone app is available for Kindle, and we’re working on a gradual transition plan for existing users who want to move with us to the new Talkatone service. In the next few months, we will be making additional announcements providing more details and information. Even more important, we’ll be releasing our new app on both iOS (including iPad) and Android.
Nevertheless, please rest assured that Talkatone will continue to support existing Google Voice users for as long as the Google Voice API remains public (until May 15th, 2014).
